Frequently asked questions

How is my data stored?: Pets, reminders, history, weight and vet entries, and settings are stored on your device. There is no account and no server. Back up to a JSON file when you want a copy you control. That file does not sync to your other devices, and photos are not included in it.
How do I reset the app?: Delete a pet or reminder you no longer want, or uninstall the app to remove the local database. Export a backup first if you want a copy.
How do I remove my data?: Delete a pet in the app, or uninstall the app. A file you already exported stays where you saved it. A system backup of the phone can keep a copy until the operating system discards it.
Does the app require an account?: No. You do not sign in. Paw Rounds is made for one caretaker on one phone.
Why am I seeing ads?: Paw Rounds is free. A small banner can appear on the main tabs. A full-screen ad plays only if you tap Watch an ad. That tap is optional and does not unlock anything. Ads come from Google AdMob. If you refuse consent, ad requests stop. Your pets, reminders, and backup keep working.
How can I report a bug?: Email elberthcorniell@gmail.com with the app version, your phone model, and what you expected to happen.
How can I suggest a feature?: Email elberthcorniell@gmail.com. A short description is enough.

A reminder did not arrive: Allow notifications for Paw Rounds in system settings. On Android, also allow alarms if the system asks. If reminders stop after the phone has been off for a long time, open the app so it can schedule the next ones.
The ad banner is missing: Banners are skipped when the phone is offline, when consent does not allow an ad request, or when the ad service has nothing to show. Your pets, reminders, and backup do not depend on the banner.
A backup will not restore: The file has to be a backup exported from Paw Rounds. If the file is not valid, the app leaves your current data in place.
